I’m glad I hadn't gotten too far in reading Still Alice before I picked up the sidekick to read along with it. With the recommendation to take note of the things Alice notices as well as the things that escape her attention, I started over at the very first page and was surprised at the small nuances I had missed that really deepened the characters involved. Alice not only tells us her story, she expresses exactly who she is personally underneath the heartache she is enduring along with her family. And who would have thought the process of keeping “To Do Lists” could actually document the changes being experienced when suffering from such a debilitating disease? Lisa Genova is highly skilled at not only gaining and keeping the reader’s attention riveted on the storyline and how the family copes, she also shines both reality and hope on the suffering everyone endures when a family member is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia.Product details

Sidekick Still Alice by Lisa Genova eBook Katherine R Miller WeLoveNovels Reviews
It has been a long time since I have read a book that was able to capture my interest within the first paragraph . The story wove so deeply into my sole as I continued to read . When I finished Still Alice , I never really was done with the story . She and her story will remain in my heart for a very long time !
Katherine R Miller has written one of the best sidekicks I have ever read. Her insight into the character's were spot on. She brought things into light that I missed when I read the book. Katherine brought to light how time was used in the book and how it correlated with Alice's early onset alzheimer's. She also gave great insight into how all of Lydia's plays, represented a part of Alice's ever changing life. If you are considering buying this sidekick, do it, you will not be disappointed.
This is a great book that addresses different phases of Alzheimer's disease, albeit it very quick progression in the story. It's written from the first person of Alice telling the story. What happens with her telling her story in the midst of Alzheimer's is you may be confused when she is--a brilliant way the author told the story. Excellent read!
This sidekick to Lisa Genova's novel Still Alice, written by Katherine R. Miller, is a great way to truly understand some of the intricacies of the novel. The sidekick is a short and easy read, and goes through some of the experiences of the novel's main character Alice, who is a one-time Harvard professor losing her mind and memories due to early onset Alzheimer's.
Come on this isn't the best work. The original book was enough , wasn't it bad enough to have added a summary and analysis to Alice, to add a third book. One book was enough, two was pushing it. A third book, the author is just desperate for attention. Save your money.
This sidekick to Still Alice by Lisa Geneva is absolutely phenomenal. It is rather short, but it is still rather detailed. I get to know the plot and the story itself even more. I am glad that this included a character guide and a character analysis of two of the characters. It could have included more, but I am glad it focused on the major characters. If you want something to go along with Still Alice, definitely read this.
This is the second sidekick I've read, and I am hooked. I absolutely love the idea of sidekicks to enhance reading the actual book. There are so many things that can be taken from this writing to encourage considerations to different story lines, characters’ feelings, etc. I initially thought a sidekick would be most helpful for beginning readers and older readers; but I've changed my mind. I can see having a sidekick to read, while reading the novel, is a wonderful, new experience for readers of all levels.
I like the way the sidekick lists the characters and their relationships to one another. This is very helpful when I can’t quite figure out who’s who. I also like the “alternate endings” and “things you could’ve missed” sections. This has brought about deep discussions between me and my Mom, me and my friends, and me and my teenaged son. How awesome it is to discuss this book and its effect on us personally, even though we all saw things a little bit differently.
I am in awe over the creation of “sidekicks”, and I can truly say I doubt I’d buy a book without one if it is available.
